Everything you Need to Know About the VI Peel

VI Peel is our newest peel on the scene and we could not be more excited to offer this incredible treatment!

Treatment:

The treatment starts with VI Peel’s proprietary gentle cleanser. After the cleanse, your esthetician will begin applying the peel to your skin—each sweep around the face with the peel is called a ‘pass’. The treatment will include 6-8 passes and last around 15-20 minutes.

Immediate After Care:

The treatment solution must stay on for four hours. During this time do not wash your face or apply makeup. Your skin may appear yellow, red, or tan and moderate redness and/or swelling may be present. 

The PEELING Process—what will it be like?

The VI Peel is a medium-depth peel which means you will experience a good amount of sheet peeling. Peeling will typically start by day two with the brunt of the shedding taking place on days three – six. It is very important that you do not pick or tug on the skin!—this can cause scarring, irritation, redness, and hyperpigmentation. Make sure to be very gentle when washing and drying your face, and to wear sunscreen! We will supply you with an aftercare kit that supplies a week’s worth of gentle cleanser, post treatment balm, SPF, and post treatment towelettes.  After the peeling has stopped you will find your skin to be more even toned, have less hyperpigmentation, and improved dark spots/scarring.

Post Care:

• Absolutely no Retinol or Actives for 7-10 days after treatment!

NOTE: After care steps may vary depending on what type of VI Peel you do

Day 1

After the 4-6 hours have passed:

1. Cleanse once with mild cleanser as above
2. Pat dry
3. Apply a thin layer of the V.I. Post Peel Protectant (Moisturizer)
4.  Apply a layer of V.I. SPF 55

Evening:

1. Cleanse once with mild cleanser as above
2. Pat dry
3.  Apply a thin layer of the V.I. Post Peel Protectant (Moisturizer)

Day 2 & 3

Morning: Minimal Make-Up may be applied

1.  Cleanse once with mild cleanser as above
2. Pat dry
3. Apply a thin layer of the V.I. Post Peel Protectant (Moisturizer)
4. Apply a layer of V.I. SPF 55

Mid-Day: 

1. Cleanse once with mild cleanser as above
2. Pat dry
3. Apply a thin layer of the V.I. Post Peel Protectant (Moisturizer)
4. Apply a layer of V.I. SPF 55

Evening: 

1. Cleanse once with mild cleanser as above
2. Pat dry
3. Apply one of the moist V.I. Peel Precision Plus post peel towelette (Light Green). Swipe over the entire peeled surface. Avoid contact with the eyes
4. If discomfort or reaction occurs, cleanse the areas with a gentle cleanser and water. Apply the V.I. Post Peel Protect and ice. You may also take ibuprofen. Do not continue to step 4
5. 30 minutes after applying the Light Green towelette, apply one of the V.I. Peel Post Peel towelette (Dark Green).  Swipe over the entire peeled surface.
6. If discomfort or reaction occurs, cleanse the areas with a gentle cleanser and water.  Apply the V.I. Post Peel Protect and ice. You may also take ibuprofen.
7. 15 minutes after applying the towelettes, apply a thin layer of the V.I. Post Peel Protectant (Moisturizer)

Day 4, 5, 6 & 7

Morning: Minimal Make-Up may be applied

1. Cleanse once with mild cleanser as above
2.  Pat dry
3. Apply a thin layer of the V.I. Post Peel Protectant (Moisturizer)
4.  Apply a layer of V.I. SPF 55

Mid-Day: 

1. Cleanse once with mild cleanser as above
2. Pat dry
3.  Apply a thin layer of the V.I. Post Peel Protectant (Moisturizer)
4. Apply a layer of V.I. SPF 55

Evening:

1. Cleanse once with mild cleanser as above
2. Pat dry
3.  Apply a thin layer of the V.I. Post Peel Protectant (Moisturizer)

Day 8 & Beyond

Start Regular daily skin care regimen
