Reduce unwanted facial and body hair with our Cutera truPulse™ Nd:YAG Laser. The Cutera truPulse™ Nd:YAG laser is FDA-approved as the most effective, safest hair removal technology on the market. It is excellent for both light and dark skin tones allowing it to be used year round when your skin is tanned.

truPulse™ Nd:YAG can remove hair from just about any part of the body such as the face, arms, underarms, and back. It can also treat sensitive areas like the chest, nipples, and bikini line. With a new longer wavelength design, the truPulse™ Nd:YAG is extremely effective, safe, and delivers permanent results.

What To Expect

During the procedure, the treated area is covered with gel and the truPulse™ Nd:YAG hand piece glides across your skin sending pulses of light to the hair follicle. Some patients experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation. Typically a local anesthesia or pain medication is not required, but some patients may opt for a topical anesthetic on more sensitive areas.

Optimal results rely on multiple factors including hair thickness, which area is treated and the patient’s hair growth cycle. Usually each area takes 3 to 6 treatments until hair is removed. The life cycle of hair actually takes on three phases: growth, regression and resting. truPulse™ Nd:YAG treatments disable hair that is in the active growth phase. Follow up visits are needed because not all hairs will be in the same phase of growth.

Following treatment, the area will be slightly red and swollen, but this will pass within a few hours. You may see regrowth of hair 3-7 days after treatment, but these are hairs being shed as a result of the laser. Between treatments, patients are advised not to pluck or wax hair, but are permitted to shave. Patients can return to their normal activities after treatment. Some redness may occur so it is recommended to wear sunscreen when exposed to the sun.
