Ultherapy

Sounds can be a comfort to us, but who knew they could also be good for your skin? Ultherapy® is the only FDA-approved procedure of its kind to lift and tighten skin in the hard-to-treat areas of the brow, neck, chin, and décolletage without surgery!

Ultherapy® uses ultrasound energy to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin in your skin. For over 50 years, ultrasound has been safely used in the field of medicine. Ultherapy® incorporates this traditional ultrasound imaging allowing for clear visibility of the tissue layers that are being treated.

Going beyond the skin’s surface, Ultherapy® administers the correct amount of ultrasound energy at the appropriate temperature. The ultrasonic energy from the procedure causes a natural reaction in the skin, which kick starts the regeneration of new collagen.

Diagram of how Ultherapy works

At the beginning of the procedure, the skin is cleansed and the target areas are specified. Your Ultherapy® practitioner will administer ultrasound gel and place the treatment applicator on your skin. Then ultrasound imagery will determine where treatment should be administered. During treatment you will feel small surges of energy being transferred, which means that collagen is generating. This sensation will only last while the energy is being deposited.

Treatment lengths vary depending upon the area that is treated – a face and neck procedure typically takes 60-90 minutes and a chest treatment takes about 30 minutes. For some, results are seen immediately after treatment. However the most significant results appear once the new collagen has some time to work, usually after 2-3 months. Ultherapy® is a wonderful alternative to a surgical facelift providing natural results and no recovery time.
